Book a stay at Beach Cottage with our friends at the family-run Cornish seaside property specialists Shore Stays and we’ll provide you with a complimentary Big Green Egg Surf & Turf Box, which includes seafood from Wright Brothers plus a couple of ribeye steaks for the meat lovers. We can also arrange for Ross Geach, an award-winning Cornish farmer and ex-head chef for Rick Stein, to work his magic on the EGG while you sup on a sundowner.
Stay in the perfect beachside property
Nestled behind the dunes right next to Porthcothan Bay, halfway between Padstow and Newquay, Beach Cottage is the perfect base for lounging on an unspoilt beach or exploring the peerless landscapes of Cornwall.
This Shore Stays property, at the centre of which is a beautiful, stylishly renovated period cottage, provides six bedrooms – four in the main cottage, two in the annexe. It even has its own garden spa building, complete with hot tub, wetroom shower and bar! The buildings are surrounded by beautiful gardens, with a gate that leads straight onto the beach.
The property’s outdoor space includes a sea-facing terrace and – most importantly of all – an outdoor kitchen. This features a Large Big Green Egg nestled in a Premium Royal Mahogany Table and equipped with all the accessories you need to never once trouble the indoor oven during your entire stay.

Worth over £130, the Big Green Egg Surf & Turf box contains a wealth of fresh fish and shellfish from Wright Brothers, the famous Brixham-based seafood suppliers, plus two of the highest quality steaks. We also provide all the recipes and guides you need to get the best out of the ingredients, which can either create one big, indulgent feast or be used day by day over the duration of your beachside stay.

Let an expert do it for you
Ross Geach, a seventh-generation farmer and former Rick Stein chef, runs Padstow Kitchen Garden on the north coast of Cornwall, producing beautiful vegetables and salad. He is also a highly engaging food writer and broadcaster and – crucially for us – an absolute wizard on the Big Green Egg. At his farm, he cooks feasts on the EGG and runs courses and masterclasses. Depending on availability, we can arrange for Ross to come to Beach Cottage to act as your private chef. You’ll be able to experience his food while also learning some tips and tricks from a real master of outdoor cooking.
