Blak Ember Curried Tomato Hot Sauce

This is a versatile hot sauce whose tongue-tingling, slow-burning heat is designed to enliven a wide range of foods, particularly hearty breakfasts or red meat dishes.

Blak Ember Sauce is a delicate but ferocious tomato and habanero chilli sauce. Sweet tomato, earthy curry spices, sharp vinegar and hot peppers combine to create a beautifully balanced condiment whose heat hits hard but fades quickly to an elegant finish. It’s the latest creation from our good friend Matt Burgess – a London-based New Zealand Maori chef and food consultant, Big Green Egg afficionado and self-confessed hot sauce addict. Born in the kitchen of his flat during the Covid lockdowns, Matt’s sauces were initially created to brighten up the meals of local families who were isolating at home.
