Created in Germany by Höfats, award-winning designers of fire-based products, the MOON 45 Fire Basket is both a beautiful object and a piece of cutting-edge engineering. With its ingenious wood gasification technology, it creates a mesmerising sea of dancing flames while remaining almost entirely smoke-free, making it perfect to gather around as the evening temperature drops.
The basket is made from a combination of stainless steel and enamelled steel and comes with a three-legged stainless steel, PVD-coated stand – stylish and durable.

The hot side of the moon
Lively garden party or relaxed lounge evening.
Choose between the elevated stainless steel base or the low cast-iron base to give your setting the perfect touch. In any case, the elegant black sphere adds a captivating lightness to every occasion.
An evolving patina
Over time, the heat of the fire will create a patina on the surface of the nozzle, with soft colour gradients and shimmering tones that make every MOON unique.
Character and efficiency
The MOON can be fuelled by either logs or wood pellets. Logs provide a traditional campfire feel, while pellets offer up to two hours of continuous burning, without refuelling.
Any even surface
The MOON’s tall stand makes it suitable for most outdoor surfaces, as long as they’re even. It must not be placed under roofs, trees or similar covering
A Smokeless experience
Thanks to the MOON’s double-walled construction and divided air supply, a two-stage combustion process is created. When the fuel is ignited, preheated air flows up between the walls and creates an efficient afterburn of fine wood particles beneath the opening. This dramatically reduces smoke, increases heat output and makes the MOON one of the most environmentally friendly fire baskets on the market, ideal for an urban garden.
FAQs
We recommend pellets with ENplus A1 certification, which provide low ash content and consistent energy output and are made from sustainable raw materials. The specific type of wood is of secondary importance.
The high, stable base means you can place it on almost any even outdoor surface. However, the basket must not be obstructed from above by roofs, trees or similar structures. Under no circumstances should it be used indoors.
Due to the heat, the PVD-coated stainless steel nozzle will develop a unique coloured patina over time. This will not affect its durability or function.

Named after a mountain in the Allgäu Alps, Höfats was founded in Germany in 2011 by Thomas and Christian, two good friends who met at university while studying mechanical engineering and product design. Based on the formula ‘Fire + Form + Function’, their business has since won 54 design awards and prizes for a range of products that includes table flames, fire baskets, fire bowls, barbecues, lanterns and torches.
