Our popular Rotisserie accessory, the key to unlocking our spit-roasting mode, has relaunched in a brand-new format. Lighter, simpler and easier to store than its groundbreaking predecessor, the Big Green Egg Rotisserie 2.0 is available for Large and XL EGGs.
Its high-torque motor is quiet but powerful, providing smooth, even rotation. It can be fitted to whichever side of the spit best suits your setup and can be run off either mains power or a USB-C battery pack. The motor is weatherproof to an IPX2 standard, so a bit of rain won’t upset your plans.
The spit, made from marine-grade 316 stainless steel with a heat-resistant Micarta handle and easy-tighten wing screws, clips directly onto the rim of your EGG. The spit, motor and clips can all be packed away in a stylish carry case.
The Rotisserie 2.0 can be used with the Dome open for hard, fast grills, or closed for gentler roasts or leisurely low & slow cooks. It is perfect for spit-roasting meat and poultry to crisp-edged, juicy-fleshed perfection, but is just as effective for cooking whole fish, large vegetables such as squash and cauliflowers, or even fruits such as pineapples.
USB to USB-C cable included, USB plug not included. USB-C and USB battery compatible.
Please Note: XL Rotisserie will be back in stock in March. Please sign up to be notified.

Why the new Rotisserie 2.0?
The Pig on The Spit
Roasting with the Rotisserie 2.0
For a long, slow spit roast, you’ll need indirect heat. The way the Rotisserie 2.0 sits in the EGG means there’s not enough space to fit a ConvEGGtor, but there is a setup that works. For this, you will need to invest in our Indirect Rotisserie Pack, which contains a 2-Piece Multi-Level Rack and a Baking Stone. If you already own the rack as part of the EGGspander System, you can complete the setup by buying a Baking Stone one size smaller than your EGG – a Large stone for an XL EGG and a MiniMax stone for a Large.
A rugby legend takes a turn
Watch the Rotisserie 2.0 in action in our new cook off video series. Across three cooking challenges, England rugby legends Matt Dawson and Will Greenwood go head to head to prove their mastery of Big Green Egg. In episode one, the chicken challenge, Will rolls out his secret weapon – the brand-new Rotisserie. Will the magic of spit roasting help him take the spoils?
As seen at The Pig
We headed to The Pig in Brockenhurst with our brand-new Rotisserie 2.0 to seek some spit-roasting inspiration. Andy Wright is the executive chef of The Pig hotels, which are famed for the quality and simplicity of their food and the strength of their commitment to local sourcing. His videos, recipes and Q&A interview are a great place to start if you want to see the appeal of the Rotisserie 2.0.

FAQs
No. It can be powered either from a mains source or with a USB-C battery pack,
Yes. The Rotisserie 2.0 is compatible with all Big Green Egg Nests and Tables. However, if your EGG is set within an IntEGGrated Nest + Acacia Shelves, you may need to remove one of the shelves to allow space for the motor.
You can fit two medium-to-large chickens on the Rotisserie 2.0 for the Large Big Green Egg. An XL can accommodate three.
Rotisseries are best known for the magic they can apply to meat: whole chickens and turkeys, or big cuts of pork, beef or lamb. But there are plenty of other ingredients that benefit just as much from spit roasting – they just need to be sufficiently large and robust to stay on the spit. Try a whole salmon, a cauliflower, a squash or a pineapple.
Yes. There is plenty of space below the spit for dirty cooking ingredients directly on the coals, or for placing a Drip Pan to collect juices from the rotating food – perfect for making gravies and sauces.
If you have a Large EGG and Rotisserie 2.0, you can also use an EGGspander System Multi-Level Rack to add additional cooking surfaces. Just be aware that the rack will be sitting lower in the EGG, in a tighter space than usual, so you will need to work with smaller cooking surfaces than usual – you’ll need a MiniMax Stainless Steel Grid and Baking Stone. This setup will not work with an XL.
The Rotisserie 2.0 can be used for everything from low & slow cooks to fierce grilling. However, do not allow the temperature to exceed 315°C, as high heat can damage the silicone pads.
Yes, but only if you have a Large EGG and Rotisserie 2.0, not an XL. With the help of the EGGspander System Multi-Level Rack, a Baking Stone and a Stainless Steel Grid, you will be able to cook using our indirect modes. Be aware, though, that because the rack will sit lower than usual, the Baking Stone and grid both need to be the MiniMax size.
No. The spit turns at a single speed.
Yes, if your dishwasher is absolutely massive! Otherwise, you can easily wash it in hot soapy water.

No. The Rotisserie is only available for a Large or XL Big Green Egg.
The Rotisserie 2.0 motor is weatherproof to an IPX2 standard, which means it can be used in almost all weather conditions, including a normal level of vertical rainfall. It’s only really when it’s hammering it down, particularly if it’s windy as well, that we’d suggest giving it a miss – but you probably wouldn’t want to be outside anyway!
All metal parts come with a one-year warranty.
